Presenting...

White's Stars And Stripes

This beautiful mare was bred to be a top show horse.  Unfortunately, her owner was injured and no longer able to return to showing horses.   She remained nestled away and untrained for eleven years.   I took her in the spring of 2014, and we slowly began her training.  One of the teenage barn girls fell in love with her and offered to start her training.  Now all the barn girls here ride her.

Betsy has been a lot of fun to work with.  She takes to everything asked of her, ears up and just looking for that "atta girl" reward.   It's like she's been waiting all her life for this moment, and it makes her happy.  She can be particularly snuggly - loves attention and works hard for praise.

Although she will walk, trot, and canter under saddle she still needs a little polish to be considered bomb-proof for any level-rider.  She hasn't been a spooky horse and she has demonstrated a boldness to walk right out.  Although content to follow another horse on a trail ride, she is also willing to lead.   She notices things, but will still go forward.  She had a huge turkey fly up out of the grass and it startled all of us.  She startled, too - but didn't do anything.  She is game and enjoys trail riding.  This lovely, eye catching mare is best suited for an intermediate rider, or better.

Finish her arena work and let her be the fabulous show horse she was bred to be.   Or just relax and enjoy life on a beautiful country trail.   She will always draw the eye of a passerby and you will always be proud to call her "my horse".

Foaled May 17, 2002

Stands 15.1 hh, brown (near-black)   Never exposed to a stallion for breeding, never shod, never seriously injured, and no history of colic.
