Dee is one of my favorite mares. She is the happiest mare; her ears are always forward and she has the best disposition. She thrives on attention and will seek it out without fail. Catch her in the pasture? Ha, you can't get away from her! She follows you around like a pet, begging for treats or attention, or just enjoying some human companionship.
Dee was leased then purchased as what I knew would be the perfect mate to my junior stallion, Ancan True Colors. However, Dee has silent heats and I have not been able to get her bred. Unfortunately, my mares have to help earn their keep by having a foal once in awhile. Dee's failure to do this is the only reason she is on my sales list.
She was trained to drive before I purchased her as I believe her previous owner had hopes of a brilliant show career with Dee. Her full sister is a Grand National Champion English Pleasure winner. Dee has phenomenal athletic ability, lots of trot off all fours and tremendously correct use of her hocks. I still believe this mare could go on to a successful showing career even at this point of her life.
I have started her saddle training. She craves attention, so she was most willing to be worked and learn something new. She has never backed an ear in all our lessons. She remains sunny, bright, happy, and willing. Dee tries exceedingly hard to please and that makes her very endearing to her handler.
