Equinox Jingles

"Jingles"

Jingles is a beautiful big bay mare.  She has the kindest, gentlest nature and is a joy to keep, handle and ride.  She is always thinking about how to please.  She is excellent for the Vet and Farrier, and current on both.

When she came here in the fall of 2006, it was on the heels of a broodmare's life and other than a few trails rides her job was to raise beautiful babies for her owners; which she certainly accomplished.  We began riding her in the summer of 2007 and discovered what an outstanding riding horse she is.  She goes hunt seat, dressage seat, and western.  She has a soft and responsive mouth, and is smooth in her gaits.

The only downside is her lack of confidence.  She is definitely not a dominant mare in or out of the pasture.  She does tend to worry and fret sometimes which is why she would be better suited to a confident and calm rider/handler.  She does rely upon her human to tell her it is okay from time to time; and then she is no problem.  A nervous, anxious, or timid rider will just make her nervous, anxious, and timid, too.  She does not buck, rear, or spook.  But when nervous and uncertain she will chomp the bit, prance, and jig.

She is outstanding on the trails!  She does prefer to be a follow horse on a trail as opposed to leading.  However, she effortlessly goes through everything she is pointed at with a calm sanity. 

She has been ridden all of 2007 by an intermediate level teenager.

Jingle is safely in foal to Ancan True Colors for an early April, 2008 foal.   While we eagerly await that gorgeous foal, she will continue to be worked under saddle both in the ring and on our beautiful trails.  She's a great mare!
